Every tour here has at least 4 stars from 30+ reviews. We've cut the ones with recent bad reviews, safety complaints, no-shows, or a near-copy from the same operator. The short take on each tour page is our call on who it's for and who should skip it.
Book lūʻau, snorkel boats, whale watches in season, Haleakalā sunrise and any Road to Hāna day that includes Waiʻānapanapa first, because those are the timed experiences that can sell out. If you drive to Haleakalā for sunrise yourself, the vehicle reservation releases 60 days ahead and again two days ahead, both at 7 a.m. Book ocean trips early in your stay so a weather cancellation still leaves time to go another day.
Yes, operators can cancel weather-sensitive tours, mostly boats and ziplines, for high wind, rough water, heavy downpours or lightning. In our booking data, most of the tours we list can be cancelled by the operator for bad weather. Book those early in your trip so a cancelled day can move, and keep our rainy and windy day guide as the backup.
Can I cancel a Maui tour for a full refund?
Usually yes: almost every tour we list refunds in full if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start time. A few are non-refundable and a few need 3 to 6 days' notice, so read the Cancellation Policy on each tour page before you book.
Do Maui tours include hotel pickup?
Most don't: the large majority of tours we list meet at a set start point; the rest include hotel pickup or let you choose. Each tour page names its meeting point, and the Maui map shows where every tour starts.
