Best for confident riders who want a self-paced Haleakalā descent from about 6,500 ft. Stopping in Upcountry for food/photos is part of the appeal, but it gets cold and fast—bring gloves and a jacket. Skip it if traffic or steep downhill riding makes you nervous.
